VALR signs on as MINT Gaming's first official partner

VALR is backing MINT Gaming as we build our first rosters, and we're looking at running events together from 2027.

VALR, the South African digital asset platform, is MINT Gaming's first official partner. Their logo goes on our kit, our streams and our channels from today, and they're with us for the part that matters most right now: putting our first rosters together.

Building the rosters

We have seven divisions, from Counter-Strike 2 and Valorant to EA Sports FC 26 and Tekken 8, and none of the line-ups are final. Over the next few months we'll be at local LANs, following the online cups and keeping an eye on the national circuits, looking for the players we want to sign.

There's no application form. When a division opens trials, we'll post the dates on our socials and here. Trials cost nothing, and they never will. If anyone asks you for money to try out for MINT Gaming, it isn't us; tell us at hello@mint-gaming.co.za.

Events from 2027

We're also looking at running our own events with VALR from 2027: open tournaments and community days for players who are good enough but haven't had many chances to prove it on a stage. Titles, dates and venues aren't set yet. We'll announce them when they are.

There's no shortage of good players in this country. What's been missing is organisations that take them seriously. Having VALR on board this early lets us do it properly.
